Awesome cars and awesome work.
How long did it take to polish those?
Those things shine.
Bob
Nice sets. How you do with these polish ? I need to know.. I always to know.
I always looking sunagon also India , mexico, error, varations . canada blistercard with two flags. mexico blistercard and pack.
Hey Bob, haven't seen you in a while. Hope all is well.
The cars in this thread are all polished by hand. Starting with files to get to a base surface and then switching to 320 grit sandpaper. Then moving up in grit step by step up to 12000 grit, alternating direction with each grit. That's the only way to get a dead flat surface that looks like chrome.
The GT40 in the other thread was done the quick way with just some minor filing and 320 grit sanding. Then I used my bench mount polishing wheel to get the shine. It's passable but not nearly as fine as the ones shown here.

They're awesome, thanks for posting.

Do you have to spray any type of clear coat on the cars, and if so what product do you use?
I don't use any clear over the polished surface. So far they are all holding up just fine and they're several years old already.

That Jag is definitely a beauty. How did Mattel miss this casting until the 00%ers? Mike
Those would look great in spectraflame.
