Interesting video. It sounds like me, that the spoksperson had a lot of facts that he pulled out of his a**.
Me. I'm a government employee, and have been since 1980. Currently I work for the U.S. Forest Service, which is a government entity. I'm a captain on a wildland fire engine, protecting the nations national forests, as well as everybody elses property that needs or requests help. I supervise 6 regular employees and routinely up to 25 on fires. None of us make that magic number of $123,044 per year, and in fact we don't make even half of that. My gross is actually less that that of the $61,000 made in the private sector.
The government routinely cuts our budgets for supplies, in fact this year we were cut 20% of our budget. Andas far as raises go, last year Obama and his congress voted and passed a bill to not give anybody in the Government a raise for 3 years.
I'm not complaining about money, and I love my job, and will keep doing it until I retire at age 57.(max retirement age for firefighters and law enforcement in the us govt.)

What I'm trying to get across, is don't believe everything you read/watch on the internet.

Enough ranting, let's go and play with our toy cars.

Actually, the $123,044 figure is very believable, as he stated average, total compensation, not gross. So if you include the cost of all benefits (health, 401K match, ect.), and the cost of replacing one while out sick, vacation or personal leave, he's likely talking about a 60-70K gross salary coinciding with that $123,044 figure. Not knocking your job or it's importance what-so-ever Keith .... but the simple fact is that Government is way too big now, and "budget cuts" of more than 20% across the board are likely needed in most government sectors if we are to turn it around. What other facts are disputable in that video? I'm not the most knowledgeable person in the world by a long shot, but almost all of that sounded in line with facts I've read on many sites (including government sites). Simple fact is ... Our federal government must immediately stop spending more than it is taking in, and raising taxes above the absurd levels they are at now is not a way to do that. Cuts must come, and come now. My 1.23044 cents worth.
