Any hope for this Beach Bomb?

I actually was able to get this lot of cars for about $18. From the pics, there were a few other 70's-80's blackwalls, and a few older Matchboxes, so I think I did OK.
I should get them in a few days... Stay tuned.

Removing the broken glass, and some gentle persuasion got it looking almost respectable.

Wife says I shouldv'e left it alone and put it in my case as it was...
I think I'm still going to go for the truck look.

I say go for the truck look. Cut the rear window area and move that up behind the front doors. make the rest a bed cover (polystyrene)

That Bus looks like she came out on the losing end of a race, and then the victor took it to the 'shop' for it's demise! I too like the truck look, make it unique!!!

Worked on it for a while last night. A little more filing and the rear cab will be ready to solder into place. Also going to make a bulkhead to seperate the cab from the bed, unless I decide just to do a bed cover.
That would be taking the easy way out.
What opinions do we have on paint? Go for a vintage color like the Pickers VW, or strip it and redo it in a spectraflame color? I am partial to the spectraflames.

Nevermind. Just found repro glass on Ebay.
I don't keep up on all the new stuff, but saw that Hotwheels has a Beach Bomb truck already! I thought I was going to do something unique!
Any ideas on where to get new "glass"? Is there a new VW bus I can get at Wallyworld that I could butcher for the glass?

Found repro glass cheap on Ebay. Also discovered that Hotwheels is making a truck VW Beach Bomb now. Bummer. Thought I was being unique!
