Default Speaking Of 1/2 Of A Pickup Truck...

...while posting up that pick of a 1/2 an Apache earlier... I thought of 'this' pic I had in my picture box. Thought it was good for a laugh to post it up here...

Hadn't thought of this pic for about a decade or more until today. For years I used to have my ...wait for this...Don't laugh... my Kodak 126 Camera (Instamatic or whatever) hanging on the dash of my car ready to snap any interesting or potentially lucrative shots... You know,....like a Britney Spears,...or Kim Kardashian up-skirt kinda thing when they're maneuvering to get out of their car...or maybe the occassional bank robbery in progress... Ya just NEVER know WHAT ya gonna get...

Well one day in about 1987 or '88 while on my way to 'Serve some Sucka' for not paying his child support in Edmonton,....I happened across THIS!

Somebody had lost their pickup truck cab somehow, and left it sitting in the middle of the road..

I'm approaching this thing for blocks, and it was just sittin' there, and nobody was around to deal with it. Nobody seemed to be lookin' for it, retrieving it,...cleaning up the mess, or whatever. Folks were just driving around it like it was some garbage can that blew off the curb when nobody was at home to go out and pick it up after the garbage truck passed by,...or some obstacle we've all encountered while driving, and have done just that,...drive around it!

So I instantly thought..."THAT is picture-worthy" and stopped to take a few pics...

Even after I drove away, nobody was attending to it as I was watching in the rear-view for a few blocks...

    Lol.

Its amazing what people dont notice falling off the backs of their trucks and trailers and how they dont secure stuff. Ten years ago I was driving down a highway in the slow lane doing 125kmh. I could see a car waaaay up ahead with a trailer loaded high with furniture - none of it strapped in. As I got closer I watched the car go through enough of a depresssion in the road so that at speed a 6ft high metal garage shelf unit came flying out and landed in my lane. I spotted it early and got outa the way. Then I noticed that the driver clearly had no idea what had happened - no brake lights. So I went ripping up to get beside him, motioned him to drop his window and yelled out "you lost your shelves back there mate!!!". He looks in the rear view mirror, looks at me with look of total disbelief and starts to pull over. Freekin idiot

'S funny Andy cos I find myself reading your posts with a Canadian accent. Which I can do rather well as we had a lovely young Canadian exchange school teacher house sit next door to us for 12 months a couple of years back. We had endless laughs over her misunderstanding the Aussie accent, particulalrly mine which is very thick and broad lol.

We can turn EVERY sentence into a question, so when ya talk to her,...make sure you get the expression correct at the end of every sentence...eh?

    See what I mean eh?

Those were statements, not questions eh?

Lol. Colette didn't actually do that. I always thought that was a New Zealand thing - they do 'bro' as a question at the end of every other sentence, and 'ay' at the end of the ones in between. Combine this with the fact that all I's become U's and E's become I's and it get's hilarious -

"So Im down goin down to the fush and chup shop bro? bro? C',mon, lits go, ay? Nah, leave that flock of Ship there bro? We'll go in the Chivy ay?"
