Once again the 2015 Mustang Rumor Mill is swirling. Will the next Mustang look like an Aston Martin? Someone claims to have seen concept sketches, then sketched their own to show the world what he saw.

Johnny: Appears feasible and could be smaller than current model -- As long as they don't get a case of stupid and reinvigorate the Mustang II.

>>Mustang II ...those were made in the "dark years" according to Mustang enthusiasts LOL!
Only Mustang enthusiasts who think Bunkie Knudson was a genius for turning the Mustang into a fat pig of a car...look at the 1971-73 Mustang for a sign of everything wrong with the GM mentality![]()
...and given that all current Astons look alike, having another car out there looking like an Aston doesn't seem real inspired. I know being a child of the 60's makes me biased by to "Mustang" can only mean a 1969 sportsroof, the pick being a Mach 1 or a Boss 302. Before that it was too delicate, after that it was variously fat (71+), a parody of itself (Mustang II), weedy (Fox body) or again an overweight, oversized copy of itself (current model).
My ultimate 69 is Allan Moffat's red Boss 302 - THE most successful racing Boss 302 on the planet. If you've never seen it, google it. Warning: there will be drool in your keyboard.

Johnny, I believe the October Car and Driver had the picture on its cover. Supposedly want to attract a more "global" interest, and steer away from the old timers. Al
All the hate never stops for the Mustang II. Sad since it is 100% responsible for keeping the Mustang model "alive". All years of Mustang II SALES only barely are surpassed in sales by only the first full year of the first Mustang, 1965. So, it was a very successful car. It is now the rarest of models whether you like it or not. To this day I have never driven a car with power steering that gives you the proper road feel like this one. Then, when you desmog the engine and bump it up to 400hp like I have, you have a beast. But maybe it's just us Bruce's that like them.

Actually...I personally have nothing against the Mustang II's ... I took these pics of one at a Mustang car show because I thought it was so cool:mustangii.jpgmustangiib.jpgThanks for the info on how successful the Mustang II's sales were and how you can really feel the road when driving them. That generation of Mustang has its place in history!
Take a look at the new Fusion and tell me there isn't some resemblance to that sketch...
