Introducing everyone to Petey...

Petey is a 3 1/2 year old Pit that was rescued from a yard here in Corpus Christi back in January. He was emaciated and had a shattered hip (from being hit by a car) that he'd been suffering with for quite some time. He'd been tied to a pole via a 4 foot leash and could not get to shelter, food or water. All he had to lay on was a insect riddled mattress and he could barely reach that. Guardian's Rescue got custody of Petey ( then being called "Meathead") and took responsibility for his surgery, rehab, and boarding. Wit Petey being such a high profile rescue, it was tough to find him a home. Even as the bills mounted, they didn't give up on Petey. Petey was only days from being transported to a Pit specialized shelter in the Dallas area, where he would have likely spent the rest of his life.

When we saw Petey's pictures, our hearts broke. We knew there was only 1 thing to do... Give Petey his Furever home. Please, share Petey's story with everyone you know. There's no greater joy than opening your home to an animal in need. Rescue dogs aren't sent for US to save THEM... THEY'RE here to save US.

Thats a great story very sad but in the end is all good. I would never buy a pet all my pets have been rescued and they know that and appreciate it. My latest was Lucky found here running on the Freeway shes almost human.

Nice Jeff! It's great to see how far that dog has come and very rewarding for you. I hope you have many happy years with your companion. Like I often say the more people I meet the more I love my dogs.

You are 100% correct. We foster dogs for the New Jersey Schnauzer Rescue Network(NJSRN.Org) We've have up to 3 fosters at a time plus our three(at the time). We know once we get our hands on a dog it is rescued, since it can stay with us as longs as it likes. We've had fosters with us for up to two years. One of our 'original three' passed away so at some point we'll be bringing home a rescue perminently as well.....
