Just a reminder when buying on foreign ebay sites: make sure the seller accepts paypal...

I made a stupid mistake and clicked "buy" on a listing on ebay.de without first checking what methods of payment the seller accepts. Their ebay rules are different from ours, and don't require paypal for toys. Seller wanted a bank transfer (no buyer protection), so I apologized and asked if he accepted paypal... then he got kind of mad at me... really mad at me... and I'll probably get a strike on my account for not paying... Oops.

There are plenty of other ways to pay, but yes some sellers do NOT have to accept Paypal (how eBay gets away with some of their rules amazes me, they tried setting Paypal as the ONLY way to pay before our government stepped in) - Italy, France and Germany in particular I know don't have Paypal as required yet. And some sellers very clearly state they don't accept Paypal (mostly German's). However, we have members on here from most of those countries who are happy to help out. The difference is that in most countries that direct transfer (bank account to bank account) is the primary payment method, but the US banking system is still far behind the rest of the world and this is why Paypal was so successful.
