yesterdays car show : a fair few pics...........

first show of the year for me, it coulda been better weatherwise but then thats Englands springtime for you, cold-damp-n-miserable....








the camaro was voted best in show, if you saw the before and during pics there isnt much on the car that hasnt been replaced, from what i could see only thefirewall, part of the floor and part of 1 rear quarter is all thats left from the factory original..

and for post 389 its the Pontiacs.......

i went in the yellow 65 bonne coupe, i only know of 2 other 65 bonnevilles in the UK so didnt expect to see another one there, specially a conv, so i had to dothe twins pic, yeah i know.....

and if your a gearhead and didnt get the 389 reference.....shame on you...

I didn't pay much attention to the 389 reference, other than noting it had to do with your post number. I was too busy drooling. So many beauties in there,but my favourite goes back to picture #2. Absolutely gorgeous and I love how they incorporated the tag (registration?) number on the front bumper. Verycreative, and that bumper looks like it was triple-plated.

Thanks for the great pics.It always surprises me to see so much American iron in England. Do you think a guy could make a buck or two finding rust free cars inthe US and Canada and selling them into England? Are the import laws ridiculously tough?

kitty, yeah the black truck is a beaut, looks mucho better without an uprite reg plate stuck on it, everything on it is pretty much perfect.

Johnny, thought you'd get it.... yup the 60 is a rarity anywhere, there used to be one in a local junkyard bout 20 years back, never could access to theyard and i believe its now lost forever.

randy, its a 62 bonneville, came over last year from the US, anuvver beatiful car only its ruined by the trunkful of speakers and TV screen, definately notmy thing.

ryan, yeah thats a cool little corvair pickup, thats 2 of em ive seen over here now, cant wait to see the next one

Theres a lot of older US cars over here, and its still a growing business. If you can find good rust free cars they will sell, not always quickly though unlessits something like a 57 chevy etc. Import laws i think are fairly relaxed but we have to pay an import duty which i think is around 10% of the purchase &shipping price (not 100% sure). LMK if you need more and i'll find out exactly whats involved.
