I don't think its an error. They most likely designed and developed the transformer car last year when the sprint cup cars had the same splitter as the nationwide cars. it wasn't untill Feb. when they first raced the sprint cup car with the new nose that you show above and by then the transformers car was most likely in production with last years nascar design.
it is a body error because from the stills and clips i have seen for real cars in the movie they used to old 08-09 cars with the old slitter and wing. if you notice the nose is too wide and the front "grill" is to tall and wide. the nationwide car body used is the one they ran only a few times in 2010 and now full time in 2011. the spoiler on the nationwide car has 2 longer ends while the Sprint Cup car doesn't. so some were down the line hasbro was given the wrong body design for this car.
my question is: What difference does it make if its an error or not?
So some of the autobots are NASCAR race cars? That's pretty cool. I might have to spring for the 3-D.
