Hood Pin Repairs or fixes??? Help Required.....

I have several restore projects that require hood pin fixes. I need to repair the areas where the hood pins sit. Is soldering an option
to use to hold the hood in place? Or is epoxy better? If so, any explanation of the process would be helpful
