Default 1984 Cadillac Eldorado problem, Any Thoughts?

Hi All........One of the cars that I own is a Black '84 Cadillac Eldo that was purchased new by my Dad in '84. He passed in 2002, so this car has VERYSpecial meaning to me for obvious reasons........Anyway, about a week ago I did a Tune up on it plugs, wires, cap, rotor and ignition module. When I was allfinished I sprayed some Gumout Carb cleaner into the Throttle Body to de-gunk it. I drove it around that day with no problems. The car sat about a week afterthat and when I started it, it did one of two things, either it idled normal but when I gave it gas it stalled OR it just revved really high and the"Service Soon" light comes on.........I have read on the internet that sometimes after a throttle is cleaned that some cars experience irratic idleproblems and in alot of cases the engine light will come on..........Has anyone ever had this problem? The car had always run fine before this, as it is invery nice condition with low mileage.. The car has a 4.1 Fuel injected V8 motor......I was thinking about having the throttle body rebuilt but there is no kitavailable anywhere for this application.........Anyone have any suggestions what my problem could be? Thanks alot for any and all responces, Drew

I am assuming throttle body injection?
There should be an IAC (idle air control motor) that should be cleaned as well.
Also check the throttle shaft for play. They like to wear on the cable side. Have had many re-bushed.

A dirty IAC would cause a funky idle, but spraying the cleaner probably wouldnt cause that to get gunked up....but as mentioned, its a good idea to clean itanyways.
I suppose though its possible that some containents from the dirty TB got in it and are causing a problem, did you just blast a bit down, or REALLY clean theTB? I went to clean my TB because of a weird idle, and just sprayed the blade down good and the idle got a bit worse. Took the IAC out and sprayed it everywhich way with cleaner and its been good to go since.
