Edwards isn't going to learn a thing from this, all he got was a slap on the wrists.
I remember back in '02 when Kevin Harvick was parked (suspended) for a post-race altercation with Biffle and rough driving in the Truck series. Why hasn't Edwards been parked. This is the second time this season that he has hooked Brad in the wall.

This penalty isn't even enough for Edwards to learn from. 25k is nothing for a driver who has made $489,291 this year so far and $33,862,314 in his career. 25k is like $5.00 to us, we wouldn't even realize its missing.

I was surprised he got punished at all, although I felt he needed it, up to getting parked Saturday night. I must say I'm looking forward to the NW race Saturday night at ORP. That race is usually more interesting than the boring Brickyard most years anyways.


I think the comparison to the Harvick thing back in '02 is a little misleading because as I recall, Harvick was behaving like a petulant teenager through the first half of that year. I think for instance, he ended one race, and parked his race car by the NASCAR trailer. I do believe Bill France sat him for showing up the 'powers to be' as much as punishing him for dumping other drivers.


I suspect Jack Roush's sponsors will get into Edward's ear over this and have as much an impact as anyone.
