Default Anyone else into RC here?

Wondering if there are any other RC enthusiasts? I do pretty much all of it...planes, cars, trucks, boats, copters etc.

Haven't put anything together for a year now probably...

I'd like to find a Mustang Mach 1 kit somewhere. Did anyone ever make a Ready to Run or kit car Mach 1? I'd like something that looked scale... Just want to tool it around the house from time to time. Something to take up the rest of the winter.... its been terrible out...bitterly cold.

Show some of your RC models if you gottem!

    Jimmy

Heck yea.....well at least when I was younger. I was big on Team Associated, and my cousin(same age and grew up on same private rd) was into Team Losi? I think that's how you spelled it. Talk about fun!!! I also had a few planes, but the only time I got it up in the air I pulled a not so successful stall turn. Strike That!!!!! Two times up in the air.....once into a marsh, and once in the driveway. Awesome crashes tho!!! I think I have some pics at home.....Ill have to check!!

    Hey fellas,

Its fun stuff, thats for sure. I bought a mico plane not too long ago. There is a hobby shop in town that takes things in for consignment, so I took a larger plane in.. and it sold, so I had some cash to spend on something else. Got a little micro plane....just scrambled it around on the floor for a bit and put it back in the box...first flight will be when the weather gets a little better.

Will get some pics when I get time. I'm big into the micro stuff...technology has come sooo far with Lithium polymer batteries... The sky is the limit with these super light, yet powerful batteries. I use them in all my micro planes.

Associated is my choice with cars/buggies/trucks... Losi, is good as well, but I feel they are too much into the "money making" relm. They have all their ready to runs, that you "have to" buy the remote with... I'd have 1,000 remotes if I bought those things... Will get some more snaps of some of these things...but here are a couple of my HPI Baja Buggy... this thing is a blast...have lots of hop up parts on it, including a tuned exhaust, which really makes it scream when I throttle it up...runs off of 2 cycle gas/oil mix. Its awesome! Came in a kit form which you build...the buggy body was purchased seperately...and I gave it a custom paint job...the other buggy is a traxxas platinum edition...came prebuilt, and again, I got custom baja buggy body and painted it...the green one is my all weather car... thrasher...
Typically with a 2 cell lypo battery you can get up to arounf 40-45 MPH...3 cell will do around 60+...which is too fast IMO...but the thing will get up to that speed in no time...torque is unreal in these brushless motors..really 100+ probably wouldn't be hard to do...just hard to control on a small vehicle. Will add pictures of my others when time permits! Show your old ones when you have time!

Thanks Greg, I have a lot of fun with it, though I've only ran about 3 complete tanks of gas thru it...gets good gas mileage...seemed like the batteries would run out on my remote before it would run out of gas LOL

Here is some of my collection of RC items. I’m more or less a big Micro guy, with many things not in my pics here that I had in a different area of the house… Some planes and cars in the garage and cupboards. I’m a freak and usually overdue everything.
For Starters, here are a couple of RC boats. First is the first I put together…a soling 1 meter by Victor. Fun little things to take out… people always ask me what I’m running for a motor in it…and always tell them its just the wind, and they can’t believe it….

Second is the Mini Cat… small micro boat…only about 12” long… does about 45 MPH in the water….just flies.. that’s only on a 2 cell lypo

    Here’s a wooden ship I built…my first wooden model I ever built

I got a really nice Miss Elam, but it’s at my shop, cause I last ran it there before it froze up.
    Here I transition into water/air/land
This is a Gemini, by Robbie…they quit making these…I don’t know why, they are a absolute blast. They fly great, and can sweep across grass and dance on water…great fun…I even had to buy an extra… Here is a pic of my extra…my runner was in my garage and didn’t want to go there… I have a custom paint job on mine that looks great…the stickers they include are kinda cheesy and heavy… I like to keep the planes as light as possible.

Here is a plane that I have floats for, but don’t have them on right now. It also has LED lights all around, so I can fly it at night. This was my first aileron plane

Here are a couple of my WW2 planes..sorry so dusty…been working on the basement.

    P-51B Mustang

    P-47 Chow Hound

P-47D Razorback still need to assemble this one

Here are a few other fun planes.
    Cessna

    Formosa and Biplane

    3D Yack

Flat outs…fun to stunt around! J

    Mini Ultra Stick…fun plane!!

This is Uncle Sam… I fly him every 4th of July and parade…the kids love him…I fly it right in the street…and land it right at my feet…just a great slow flyer…but winds can’t be much.. The last 4 4ths have been great for it.

The first plane I ever flew, and it still looks great, though dusty!
GWS Slow Stick..talk about relaxed flying! J Great fun! It’s beside a Stevens Areostick

Here come my micro planes J I really like how fun the micros are…but conditions need to be right to fly them without incident. Calm conditions, are really ideal for them.
This is the newest of the family… THE BEAST!

Some sitting in there hangars…ready for spring…though I do pull them out and fly around the house with a couple

Got every color that came out in the Catabria, the first micro plane of mass market…really a collectable to me Red, Yellow and Blue..they don’t make them anymore..so I hunted them down and bought all colors.

Couple copters..sorry didn’t want to dig them out.

Here are some of the trucks buggies and things

Not including the micro vehicles, which are upstairs in the cupboards… Just too much fun…love to tinker with them…just not enough time in the day I suppose.
Hope I didn't post to many pics...I didn't even go in my garage and take pics of my other stuff...that would be massive overload!!

Yup. Cars for me, airplanes for my dad. I fave an HPI AAR Cuda and my dad has numerous vintage aircraft.

You got the cool toys Jimmy.

I wanna come over and play.I had fun by adding extra power to small RC.So much power the car would just sit & spin.Put a little WD-40 on the kitchen floor and do circles.I had to add cooling fins to the motor because they would overheat and melt. Thanks for the great picture and read thread.
