Thread: THIS MORNING'S FINDS!

  1. #1

    Default THIS MORNING'S FINDS!

I hit one sale today, thats all for me. Nothing extraordinarily rare, but some nice pieces. I may flip the Edsel model as well. If it don't sell I might build it...someday. Can anyone tell me anything on that cool Union/Unocal 76 pen set? Looks high end? There is small sticker on the base that reads "Fine Marble Base Made in Italy".

I bought the ornaments because I already have a good start on vintage Christmas stuff. When I put this up for sale, I'll already have buyers. That, and the ice style ones match my rare GE ice bulbs. Oh and the orange and white Shiny Brite is a WWII era ornament, it has no silver lining inside.

Really cool stuff! The pen set may have been on the desk of a mid-high level employee or distributor of Unocal products. It also may have been given out at a trade show to potential distributors.

    Just my two copper discs.

p.s. I too have models I'll build someday...

Kinda what I thought, a high end employee or executive. But, I was never thinking a trade show or distributor. Would that pen set be kind of like a "Toy Fair Car" except for oil or advertising guys?

The ink cartridge is dry, should I leave it in or replace it? I plan to flip this baby. I'm thinking just leaving it in if functionality doesn't effect it much.

Nice ornaments! I love vintage christmas ornaments, reminds me of my childhood. I went to a sale yesterday of an old zippo salesman. He had several sleaves of lighters, pens and knives...all from the 60s. He wanted $45. per sleave which had about 20 lighers/knives/pens a piece. Someone came just in front of me and got all the lighters...thats the only ones I would have wanted. He took some others as well...and I just left everything else. Went down the street to another sale that wasn't so well advertised and picked up a really nice handblown glass Italian vase...trully beautiful for 10 bucks...about 60 years old...and perfect. Here is a picture.

Now that is beautiful! It is worth far more than what you paid, I'm sure. Did you see the Christmas ornaments and lights I scored about 3 or 4 weeks ago? I got some truely beautiful items. My favorite (besides the bubble lights, I wish I could test them), would be the complete set of GE Ice light bulbs. Just imagine those bulbs lit up on an aluminum tree with those ice ornaments in this thread.
