Meltdowndrags Big Thumbs up!!

My family and I went to check out the Meltdown drags this weekend in Byron IL. It's a great event. I haven't been to a drag race since my friends and I used to race at Union Grove in the 80's. My son has never been to a race of any kind. I've never had the opportunity to see gassers in action and it was downright awesome. One altered mopar "Moparius Maximus" was running in the mid 8's. There were some great wheelstands as well.

Mike, i raced at Byron, Oswego, and U.S. 30, and attended races at Union Grove, back in the '70's, cool pix and video!

The nostalgia trend is something that I hope continues. After my 55 is on the road, I've been eyeballing a 56' chevy and I think a straight axle would look pretty darn good under it.
