It is a single shot but in trained hands it doesn't miss.. here is a video of one in .223 remington hitting the target at 300 yards.. it is a pistol as you need a pistol permit to buy it.

Getting ready to buy a Rock River AR in the.223 or .308 have not decided yet. Saw at a gun show last weekend they come in a .456 Slocom.

Should be able to protect the homestead. LOL!!!
