Sign of a scalper wow! Considering I very rarely sell anything, and I do give alot of stuff away. I remember when Dale Earnhart passed away and many people cashed in on his death, and there were probably quite a few who collect hot wheels who sold at that time, I know a few, yes Mr. Shelby contributed greatly to the sport, I myself have never met the man and for those of you who mourn for him I will respect your grief, though I would think that he lived a life that would promote a winning celebration, in an American way of life working hard to beat his foes both on the track and in court, so to those friends and family I will give a moment of silence, the rest can kiss my adze.

Awfully harsh words mr broilermaker. I sure wished you would have a little more respect for the post than to say 'the rest of you can kiss you adze'

I expect that from others who are banned from here but not you...I guess I was wrong.

Very sad indeed!!! I have been to his shop a number of times, have signed the wall there with the serial number of my UNIQUE cobra, I was part of the 25th anniversary Shelby mini Nats and a number of other shelby get togethers but NEVER met the legend. What a shame! Thanks for the thread.

P.S. that comment about the selling of the autographs is BS as stated by other members. I have a number of them and would not sell them, especially now! I will leave it at that.

RIP Carroll. Everything he worked one was an automotive marvel. From the Ford Mustang to the Dodge Shadow, RIP.

As for the fight here of selling his autograph and other memorbilia, I'd like to see everybody put their money where their mouth is. How many people suddenly wanted Carroll Shelby's merchandise after hearing of his death? Michael Jackson? Farrah Fawcett? Dale Earnhardt? Elvis? Ladies and gnetlemen, the sad reality is, when somebody famous dies, the value of their merchandise shoots through the roof for a short period of time. Why? BUYERS and people who admired the guy/girl want their stuff and will pay anything for it.

Capitalism 101, folks!
