I just read the news too Jeff.......What a LEGEND he is/was......I know he was 89 but this still comes as a shock to me, as he was still so active and enthusiastic about the cars he created.......RIP Carroll.....
Just heard the news. He contributed so much over the years, he always was and will forever be an icon in the car world. God Speed Carroll.

Damn....and I'm in the midst of landing a new era super snake, was hoping to meet him. RIP Carroll, may he live on through his cars and all the people he touched.
Nows the time to sell his signature
Mama take this badge off me.
I can't use it anymore..
I have to say I shed many tears today at the news of Carroll Shelby. I'm past President of the Shelby Cobra Association of Texas which is Carrolls' home town club. We had probably more access to him than most people as well as his family which all live here. We knew he was sick and had been in the hospital for some kind of procedure. I guess we should have paid more attention when news was the whole family was in. Just last week we heard he was doing well and was raising hell at the hospital that he was fine and ready to go home...which is just like him. We are in the planning stages of hosting the 50th Anniversary of the Cobra and was hoping he might be able to attend since he had been staying in Dallas quite a lot recently. It hit us all very hard today of the news of his passing. Keep his family in your prayers and if you one of the people who owns a Shelby.....take it out and drive the hell out of it. That's what he would like as he always said his cars were made to drive. If I hear any more news I will try to post it here if possible.

A sad surprise when I checked the LA Times after getting home from work. Silly, their headline image was of him standing with a lineup of Shelby Oldsmobiles. (They've since changed it).
