Both Letterman and Jimmy Fallon are taping infront of an empty studio... NO studio audience,...and half of The Roots is missing...lol...

Hey dude,...I'm probably 600 or so miles to the northwest of you guys up by Georgian Bay, and even WE are getting blasted from the outer edge of the thing...

Raining like crazy, windy as all h3ll (50mph gusts),...throw in a little COLD air (4 or 5 Celsius, 37 or 40 F),....NOT NICE!

I don't envy you guys, stay safe and dry...

And watch out for those 30 story tall building cranes flyin' around down there like the one I saw on the news earlier that broke off at the top and is dangling up there blowing in the wind...

Wll, we made it thru it. Lost power for 4 days. Had Heat and water. Don't know how i able to keep the heat on. I live 1 mile from Union Beach, NJ. Which is pretty much gone. Were i live,Keyport, i'm 8/10 of a mile from the Raritan Bay. There's a hill you have to go down to get to the bay, about 25 feet. Well without that hill, most of Keyport would have been gone. What was, i mean was there, is gone, below the hill. If not gonr just standing, damaged by the water. They said a 12 foot surge came in, on top of the regular High Tide and on top of a Full Moon. Just was able to see the TV footage. Things i remember and places i used to always go too, down the shore are all gone or highly damaged. Seaside Hieghts,Sandy Hook,Seabright,Asbury Park,Point Pleasent Beach and all of the other Shore Towns in between. Me and the wife listen to the Radio for 4 days. Without that we didn't know nothing. Cell power was out. Work was open, so i was able to work 2 of the 4 days without power. Charged phones at work. Finding ice was hard. Neigbors was finding it and giving out to the rest of us. That was great. We all helped each other out as much as we could. Lucky for me, i filled up the gas tank in the car, before the Storm. Bought candles and batteries and matches. Was going to work at 2am and no towns had power and roads were blocked, by down trees and lines. Couldn't make no left hand turns on any intersections. So had to find different ways, to work, in the complete dark. It was hard. Not being wothout a computer didn't bother me. The wife was going nuts. She was doing her crafts. She doesn't plays card or board games. So played cards by myself. But mostly just listen to the radio. One thing i did get was good sleep! Wasn't much else to do. Had curfews, so going out, not to far was alright. Actual being on the road going to work, you could get pulled over, by the cops and told to go home. But cops didn't pull me over, they saw me. As i gotoo work i'm seeing more and more power coming on. So that's good.People lined up at cas stations, for hours, just standing there with there gas cans. I had a gas station opened by work so i got it at 3am,no lines. The early you go the better. My work hours stink, but for something like this it was good. Dark but no traffic. Going home, not so good. No traffic lights are working. Try to go one car at a time, lots of people don't know the rules. Becomes a 4 way stop sign. I'm sure i can go on, but for now just to let you know, i'm alive and have my health.

Hi Bernard......Glad you and your family are doing okay. I was thinking about you since we have had a few conversations about New Jersey, and I am still grateful to you for taking the pictures of my old House and neighboorhood in Middletown....Wow, As I told you I remember Sea Bright very well from back in the old days when all the Beach Clubs were there. I have also been to Sandy Hook many times with my Parents and even went there on school field trips. Of course I haven't been to that area since about 1970. I am sure alot had changed since then......but for me to think that it's all gone now is quite disturbing. In recent months I was seriously considering going back to NJ for a visit, to see my old neighboorhood and surrounding areas.......I guess I waited a little too long and it's upsetting......I am glad you are okay though....Take Care.....Drew

We just got power back but it's hard to believe that there is still homes in Coventry that are still without. Lots of downed trees in areas hard to get at. Just down the street at the Nathan Hale Homestead, we noticed power lines down all over still that CL&P has not gotten to yet
